Hours Worked: Typical Monday – Friday However, must be flexible to meet business needs and work overtime or weekend hours.
Position Summary:
The Synthetic Chemist (Oligo) III is responsible for design, validation and implementation synthesis projects with an emphasis on Oligonucleotides, as well as peptide and protein, bioconjugation, purification, and characterization as therapeutic compound modalities. Performing testing, producing and reporting accurate data. Responsibilities include general lab duties and maintenance as well as reading and interpreting standards and regulations, setting up tests, monitoring progress and recording data. Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with senior scientists to accomplish team objectives and research milestones.
- Planning, synthesizing, purifying, analyzing oligonucleotides (siRNA, PMO, others) and bioconjugating with proteins, peptides, and small molecules
- Plan, set up, run, and analyze downstream assays (e.g. ELISA, SPR, etc.) using synthesized compounds
- Liaising with workgroup team members to plan and track in-vivo experiments, and assist with data analysis
- Maintain accurate record keeping, perform independent data analyses, and report data in written and oral formats.
- Critically evaluate data and results and troubleshoot synthesis issues.
- Perform work in compliance with client policies. Follow good documentation practices and notebooking.
- Demonstrable ability to function independently, work within a flexible, team-oriented lab environment, and work within cross-functional project teams.
- Contribute intellectually to projects, challenges, solutions and new methods
- Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Performs testing independently with little or no guidance from management
- Resolve escalated internal and external contact issues.
- Is a subject matter expert (SME) in assigned area and maintains up to date knowledge of current regulations / industry standards, method and protocols for products to be tested.
- Interprets data from multiple sources and provides analysis.
- Identify, troubleshoot and solve escalated technical issues.
- Write or edit procedure as requested
- Act in partnership with internal and external contacts and management to support process improvement development
- Understand and adhere to standards for appropriate test methods and SOP’s.
- Conducts testing on a variety of samples using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards / specifications appropriate to the sample.
- Performs testing in coordination with internal and external contacts, coworkers, and supervision from management
- Able to troubleshoot with N+1 for any client issues or questions with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations.
- Accurately report and record test data in electronic notebook or handwritten notebooks as needed in a timely manner
- Report safety, instrument and technical issues to the appropriate contacts.
- Maintain supplies, lab cleanliness and analytical instrumentation, as required.
- Prepare stock solutions, and keeping shelves and reagent stocked.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current methods and products to be tested.
- Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS Quality System.
- Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.

Education and Experience:
- PhD in Chemistry or related degree
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience
- Minimum one (1) years working in pharmaceutical or industrial environment
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
