Job Title: Branch Manager – Prince George

Reports to: Director, Operations – Minerals Canada and Alaska

Basic Purpose:

Reporting to the Director, Operations – Minerals Canada and Alaska, the Branch Manager – Prince George is responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of the prep branch facility. They will oversee and lead the production process, be responsible for hiring and training employees, and assisting clients. Manage, plan and allocate equipment / resources to meet TAT Commitment with uncompromised safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Overall management of the sample preparation branch facility including recruiting and training, employee shift scheduling and time keeping, disciplinary actions and terminations
• All stages of sample preparation including receiving and entering samples into the LIMS and warehouse management
• Ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established SOPs, with the highest focus on safety
• Maintenance of training matrix and records of all sample preparation employees
• Creating and implementing a formal training module for employees
• Quality control management including reporting, audits, quality documentation, investigations
• Management of all vehicles, building and equipment repairs and maintenance
• Client services for regional clients, this includes sample pick up, sample preparation, sample storage, sample shipping and responding to inquiries and requests
• Complete timely incident investigation reports, developing detailed corrective actions, whenever a first aid injury occurs
• Works as part of a bigger team with other managers to continuously improve systems
• Support other branches and on-site laboratories as required
• Responsible for lab supplies, timesheets, local purchasing, production reports
• Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to position
• Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ensure all staff working in the facility, as well as contractors/visitors, meet PPE requirements

Other duties or tasks as assigned or required from time to time

Skills and Competencies:

• Experience should be a minimum of 5 years training with proven leadership experience
• Education must be a minimum of college/university and/or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and varied information systems
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Strong work ethic with focus on working safely while completing all tasks in an organized and timely manner
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
• Valid Driving License with clean abstract
