Job Summary:
The Lead Auditor plays a critical role in the certification of clients across multiple industries. Key aspects include utilizing systems engineering knowledge, lead auditor training, and industry experience to provide value-added audits as part of the certification process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute 3rd party audits in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 requirements and organizational objectives.
• Assess the effectiveness of quality management systems, identifying nonconformities, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans, and present them to management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, supply chain) to ensure audit findings are addressed and implemented effectively.
• Provide technical expertise in systems engineering to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes during audits, ensuring alignment with ISO standards.
• Train and mentor junior auditors and staff on ISO certification requirements, audit techniques, and best practices in quality management.
• Monitor and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) post-audit.
• Stay current on updates to ISO standards updates, and manufacturing industry regulations to ensure compliance and relevance in audit practices.
• Support the development and maintenance of the organization’s management system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and process maps.
• Contribute to risk management initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and potential quality risks during audits.

• May be asked to supervise employees within the business unit

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to identifying root causes and solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit schedules in a fast-paced environment
Competencies
The requirements listed below are competencies required to perform the job successfully.
• In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 requirements and including compliance knowledge to environmental and health & safety regulations
• Strong understanding of system engineering principles, including process design, workflow analysis, and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in quality management software and tools (e.g., Minitab, QMS platforms).
• Familiarity with industry regulations and customer-specific requirements
• Familiarity with environmental, and health & safety management software and tools (e.g., Minitab, QMS platforms, SafetyCulture)
• Knowledge of Bureau Veritas global network and related certification activities
Education, Certifications, and Experience (required)
• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on manufacturing processes, process optimization, or production systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing environmental and health & safety systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an auditor, with demonstrated expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001 auditing.
• Ability to achieve IATF 16949 third-party auditor qualification
• Certifications:
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor course certification (required).
• Lead Auditor approval from accredited third-party certification body
• Additional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus.
