Role Description

We are seeking a Lead Auditor Freelance ISO 19443 for on-call audit activities at sites and facilities in Slovakia. The position involves conducting ISO 19443 compliance audits (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems for the Oil and Gas Industry) at client facilities in the Oil & Gas, energy, and related industries.

The professional will operate as an independent auditor, ensuring objective, comprehensive assessments compliant with IRCA/UKAS standards. Availability will be flexible, with activations based on project needs (typically 2-4 audits annually).

Primary Responsibilities

• Audit Planning: Define scope, evaluation criteria, methodologies, and audit schedule in coordination with the client
• Audit Execution: Perform on-site verification at Oil & Gas facilities, verifying ISO 19443 compliance and local HSE regulations
• Evidence Collection: Systematically document non-conformities, observations, strengths, and improvement opportunities
• Report Preparation: Develop detailed, objective, and verifiable audit reports with clear findings and recommendations
• Follow-up: Verify corrective action implementation and support client improvement processes
• Stakeholder Communication: Interface with client management, technical teams, regulatory authorities, and other interested parties
• Regulatory Updates: Maintain current knowledge of ISO 19443 evolution, HSE regulations, and Slovak local requirements
• Technical Consultation: Provide interpretive support on standard requirements and sector best practices

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Management) or related disciplines
• Valid Lead Auditor ISO 19443 certification recognized internationally (IRCA, UKAS, or equivalent)

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in auditing occupational health and safety management systems (HSE/OHSMS)
• Minimum 3 years of specific experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, or high-criticality industries
• Experience auditing facilities in Slovakia or Central-Eastern Europe preferred
• Proven experience in audit report preparation and follow-up management

Technical Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of ISO 19443, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and related HSE regulations
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas processes (upstream, downstream, midstream)
• Familiarity with Slovak local regulations and European regulatory requirements
• Competence in audit methodologies and risk assessment techniques
