Purpose of Position/ Function:
Identify and develop new generation of Construction Code professionals and establish a company culture for long term employment and organic talent growth.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform scheduled assignments as needed between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday –Friday
  • Perform daily duties responsibly and safely with respect to private and personal property.
  • Readily communicate with Manager and assigned mentor.
  • Promote professional development by achieving additional ICC certifications, attending training opportunities and consistent study of codes and standards as related to work performance.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications and Education:

Any combination of education or experience normally equivalent to:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: None required.

 

GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Achieve Residential Building Inspector certification with first 3 months of employment.
  • Achieve Residential Combination Inspector within following 6 months.
  • Develop skills for thorough inspecting, detailed reporting, efficient time management and effective problem solving.
  • Demonstrate professional work ethic.
  • Demonstrate loyalty and teachability.

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to operate work related technology (laptop, tablet, iPhone).
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and similar programs.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and conduct.
  • Must be self- disciplined, able to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work well with people and perform as a member of a team.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must possess problem solving skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude towards Company and clients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Must have a valid Georgia’s driver’s license.

 

This position is an early career training position. Candidate will work daily with an assigned mentor who is a seasoned professional inspector. Candidate is solely responsible for time dedicated to learning the industry and preparing for ICC certification exams. Candidate will be evaluated at the end of three months of employment and upon satisfactory demonstration of the position expectations and following successful completion of Residential Combination Inspector and meeting the additional criteria of the position, will receive a pay increase commiserate with the incentive for certification achievement. Failure to meeting requirements for the first three months of employment will result in dismissal from the program.
