Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to help drive the evolution of BV’s suite of sustainability services and contribute to division growth targets.  Assist the BVCPS sales effort to win new business by contributing to technical phases of the sales process for sustainability services, including technical presentations, technical proposal development, RFP technical responses, etc. Develop and implement initiatives to establish technical leadership in the region, including training colleagues in Key Account Management and Business Development.  Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to maintain and grow current accounts. Develop and maintain the technical content of sustainability-related sales and marketing materials including sales sheets, bulletins, presentations, website content, etc. Support new sustainability solution development and solution/product launch by providing market insight on emerging trends and client needs, new product ideas, recommendations and/or fully developed proposals for new service offerings.  Support Global Business Line projects and initiatives.

 

Major Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy / Research & Development

Regional Subject Matter Support for all Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability Services in the AME region (Responsible Sourcing, Responsible Products & Materials, and Decarbonization & Cleaner Production)

  • Surveillance of the sustainability topics in all areas
    • Regulations
    • Industry trends
    • Competition
  • Engage with colleagues in the AME region, study new legislation, develop white papers, assess business impacts and opportunities for BV, educate BVCPS stake holders
  • Represent BV in key committees, industry association meetings and conferences, working groups, etc. & influence decisions in these forums to support BV's interest. Relay information obtained from attendance back to colleagues.
  • Speak or serve as moderator at industry or clients' events
  • Recommend new services and work the high-level business case for Global SML to make a decision

 

Technical sales support for strategic opportunities

  • Engage clients to understand their objectives and their challenges and needs
  • Support development of sales material for client meetings
  • Work on RFPs new and renewal for programs in their region
  • Educational role - interact on a regular basis with Key Account Management and Program Service Delivery Teams on all the programs to support understanding gap on CPS sustainability services

 

 Technical Program Support

  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers to understand client needs and program objectives
  • Collaborate with Program Service Delivery team to ensure smooth program launch
  • Periodic technical engagement with clients to revise/enhance program elements

 

Other

  • Other duties as needed to support the Supply Chain Solutions, Global Business Line team and CPS clients in the rapidly evolving sustainability space
  • Participate in continuous training/education to keep abreast of current services provided by BVCPS

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be able to work effectively with colleagues in a complex international organization across multiple time zones
  • Must have an understanding and general competency in areas of sustainability solutions relating to consumer products.
  • Must have, or be able to develop, senior management level relationships at major retailers and brands within the consumer products industries.
  • Must have an understanding of sourcing and supply chains and how BVCPS solutions relate.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and translate into common terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent client service skills to ensure effective, responsive client interaction (internal and external).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and balance several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to negotiate and sell relevant solutions in a way that benefits BVCPS & the customer.
  • Must be confident, highly efficient, and self-motivated.
  • Must be personable and work well independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Travel required for industry conferences, client meetings and internal meetings and client meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications – including Excel and PowerPoint

 

 

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • Minimum of a 4 year degree
  • Knowledge of sustainability solutions related to consumer products
  • Five (5) years of experience related to consumer products and/or supply chain sustainability solutions

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.

 

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $130,000 annually (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
