Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Reports to: Director - National Accounts, Environmental

 

Basic Purpose:

The Program Specialist, National Accounts partners closely with the Director, National Accounts to manage complex multi-site environmental testing projects and strategic client accounts across Canada. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, oversees project delivery, analyzes account performance, maintains select key client relationships, and supports growth initiatives while ensuring service quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

 

Key Accountability/Responsibilities:

• Manage planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of National Accounts projects.
• Monitor client activity, spending, milestones, KPIs, and project performance.
• Maintain account deliverables, quotations, and reporting within LIMS and related systems.
• Define project scope, manage change requests, and maintain approval documentation, including contracts
• Coordinate activities with operations, laboratory management, quality, R&D, customer service, and business development teams.
• Identify project risks, implement mitigation plans, and escalate critical issues.
• Ensure deliverables meet Bureau Veritas quality standards and client expectations.
• Manage logistics, resources, scheduling, and communication across multiple client sites.
• Prepare and interpret Business Reviews, Stewardship Reports, FLAG reports, and other client-facing deliverables.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth.
• Translate technical environmental testing information into clear client communications.
• Gather customer feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with proposals, onboarding activities, market analysis, and new business opportunities.
• Maintain Salesforce, project databases, financial tracking systems, and required compliance records.
• Develop presentations, training materials, meeting summaries, and status reports.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

• Advanced project management and multi-site project coordination.
• Strong knowledge of environmental laboratory testing services and client delivery processes.
• Proficiency with LIMS, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and reporting tools.
• Data analysis, KPI tracking, financial reporting, and performance measurement.
• Scope management, risk assessment, quality assurance, and documentation control.
• Client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
• Proposal support, account administration, and contract coordination.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and technical communication skills.

Education, Certifications and Experience:

• University Degree or college diploma in Science, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline, equivalent experience considered.

• 5+ years of experience
• Experience managing complex projects, preferably within environmental, laboratory, engineering consultancy, or industrial service environments.
• Demonstrated experience working with national or multi-location client accounts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
