ACCOUNT MANAGER

THE POSITION
As an Account Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients in the Metals & Minerals, and a team of 3 client coordinators. You understand the contract with our clients and manage the requirements and agreed conditions. By working closely with your clients, and keeping up with market trends, you will be able to act quickly on new market developments and respond swiftly to your client’s needs as they evolve.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with your international clients and network 
  • Manage the client relation on an operational and tactical level. Daily fielding of incoming key account questions, issues, and complaints. Leading the communications towards the customer
  • Define and deploy the account plan for large clients within the global account management framework. Develop a common vision & purpose to serve these clients
  • Ensure timely and proper invoicing and work together with finance to ensure payment of invoices within the agreed timeframes together with your team

 

Leadership accountabilities:

  • Ensure strong occupation, attract & retain employees by creating a safe, trusted, fun, and entrepreneurial working environment
  • Managing performance, facilitating training and development, stimulating operational excellence, initiating and contributing to projects that improve operational excellence and further digitalization within our operations
  • Be the Change Ambassador and implement change management practices to achieve organizational goals
  • Cooperate closely with our HR department across the entire 'employee journey'

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for an ambitious, agile, and self-motivated sales professional, who is inspired by making a meaningful impact on our North-West Europe growth strategy. Candidate requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or commercial discipline, or relevant industry experience 
  • At least 5 years of account management or sales experience in the Metals & Minerals Industry with a proven track record
  • Preferably a minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and understand markets, customers, and the competitive situation 
  • You are an agile networker and able to communicate at all levels within an organization, building effective relationships with customers, peers & stakeholders
  • You are able to translate marketing strategy into practical plans in support of commercial growth
  • You have a “hands-on” mentality and are driven by delivering on your commitments
  • You are a careful listener and excellent communicator
  • Fluent in English, Dutch language skills preferred
  • Based in the Rotterdam area
