Drive Commercial Growth Across Northern Europe
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our consulting activities across Northern Europe (Benelux, Germany, and the Nordic countries).
Based in Rotterdam and reporting to the BV Solutions Europe Director, you will play a key role in the commercial development of our services in risk analysis, maritime decarbonization, and engineering advisory.
Working within an international environment, you will collaborate closely with Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore regional sales teams as well as the central BV Solutions team based in France, including management, business developers, and technical experts.
Your Main Responsibilities
Develop Business Opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through to contract signature.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of prospects and strategic clients across Northern Europe.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities through proactive prospecting and regular client visits.
- Identify new market opportunities and strengthen the presence of BV Solutions within the maritime and offshore sectors.
Contribute to Business Growth
- Achieve revenue and profitability targets for the region.
- Expand BV Solutions' market share across its core service areas:
- Risk Analysis;
- Maritime Decarbonization Services;
- Engineering Advisory and Technical Consulting.
Develop Tailored Commercial Solutions
- Co-develop commercial proposals and customized service offerings with commercial and technical teams.
- Ensure the technical, commercial, and financial relevance of proposals submitted to clients.
- Support and lead commercial negotiations through to contract award.
Monitor and Report Commercial Performance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity tracking within Salesforce.
- Provide regular reporting and sales forecasts to management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial practices and market intelligence sharing.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Master's degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or commercial sales.
- Experience within the maritime, offshore, or industrial sectors would be a strong advantage.
- Proven track record of winning new business and consistently achieving ambitious sales targets.
Commercial Skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer focus and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce.
Technical Understanding
- Good understanding of consulting and technical advisory services.
- Ability to engage with technical stakeholders and develop solutions tailored to client needs.
Personal Qualities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
- Dynamic, proactive, and passionate about business development.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable operating in an international and matrix environment.
Languages
- Fluent English and German are mandatory.
Mobility
This position requires regular travel across Northern Europe (Benelux, Germany, and the Nordic countries).
You will work closely with regional Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore sales teams, the BV Solutions central team in France, and the wider international Bureau Veritas network.
