About the role
As a Plan Approval Surveyor Stability, you are responsible for reviewing and approving stability-related documentation and calculations of marine constructions and equipment. You work within the framework of Bureau Veritas Rules & Regulations, international statutory requirements and internal procedures.
You are part of the Marine Plan Approval team and work closely with fellow surveyors, discipline managers, designers, shipyards and clients. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical depth and grow in responsibility within the stability discipline.
Your Responsibilities
- Review and approval of stability calculations, stability booklets and related drawings
- Verification of compliance with class rules, statutory and international regulations
- Technical interaction with clients, designers and shipyards
- Identification and follow-up of non‑conformities and corrective actions
- Preparation of clear, accurate and timely technical reports
- Active participation in knowledge sharing within the team
- Contribution to technical meetings, workshops and design reviews (as experience grows)
- Working in accordance with the BV Quality System, Code of Ethics and safety policies
Your Profile
- BSc or MSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or equivalent
- At least five years of relevant experience in marine, offshore, engineering or classification.
- Interest in and affinity with stability and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Fluency in English (local language is a plus)
- Solid PC skills (experience with stability software NAPA and Rhinoceros is required)
- Experience with MS Access databases or any other planning tools will be considered as advantage
