WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO
Working in the world of Marine Technology: Reviewing design drawings of ships, being the point of contact for our maritime customers and collaborating with colleagues in an international team.
As a Plan Approval Surveyor, you will be involved in assessing design drawings of ships, with a focus on the technology. Piping systems, propulsion installations, MARPOL, SOLAS, Ballast Water Management and new fuels are key words that you will encounter in your daily work. The drawings you assess concern various types of ships. Yachts, work vessels, tankers, dredging and inland vessels, almost all types of ships belong to your working area. Our customers' questions are as broad as our clientele. It can be a new build or a renovation and the question can come from the shipyard, the engineering firm or the ship owner. The aim in our work is unambiguous, assisting our customers to achieve a result that both meets the set requirements and is practically feasible. In addition to inspecting drawings, you will act as a technical point of contact for both our customers and colleagues in the international Bureau Veritas network
Your work environment
You can work hybrid with us: partly at our office in Rotterdam and from home. You can assume working 3 days at the office and 2 days from home on a full-time basis. Or a division of 2 days at the office and 2 days at home for a 32-hour working week. You will work together with 5 colleagues in a close-knit international team in a good working atmosphere.

You have a genuine interest in technology. You want to be the expert and specialist in your field. You are naturally curious and eager to learn. Our field is highly subject to changing regulations, and you find it interesting and important to delve into this and stay informed of the latest developments.
In addition, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
• You have a Bachelor's degree in naval architecture or maritime technology or you have completed nautical college;
• You have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• You are able to engage in conversation at all levels;
• You have good communication skills in Dutch and English;
• You have good reporting skills in Dutch and English;
• You are able to switch between multiple projects, without losing the overview;
• You can work independently as well as in a team.
