Join a dynamic team: Within our Plan Approval Office (FPO) in Saint-Herblain, you will join a team of technical experts responsible for verifying the regulatory compliance of ship plans, in France and internationally.
You will work closely with design offices, shipyards, the international Bureau Veritas network, as well as Research & Development teams, in a stimulating, demanding, and innovation-driven environment.
Your main missions:
As a Naval Architecture Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing structural, stability, and freeboard plans for all types of seagoing vessels and inland or river navigation units, under construction in France and abroad;
- Acting as the main technical point of contact for design offices and shipyards throughout the projects under your responsibility;
- Performing technical studies and providing support to the Bureau Veritas network for ships in service;
- Contributing to the development, evolution, and validation of Bureau Veritas rules, as well as to the operation of the local plan approval offices network (technical support, training, guidance);
- Taking part in large-scale innovative projects aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of maritime transport;
- Working closely with Research & Development teams in the approval of emerging concepts and technologies.
Your strengths for success:
- Education and experience: You hold a higher education degree in naval architecture (engineering school or university) and have at least 3 years of experience in the maritime sector, providing you with a solid understanding of applicable standards and regulations.
- Technical skills: You are proficient in engineering tools (strength of materials, finite element analysis) and demonstrate strong writing and communication skills when analyzing and presenting complex technical files.
- Personal qualities: You are rigorous, autonomous, and possess strong teamwork skills, along with solid analytical and synthesis abilities.
- Language skills: You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, enabling effective communication with clients, internal teams, and our international network.
- You are comfortable with digital tools and demonstrate strong interpersonal and writing skills.
