Join a dynamic team: Our plan approval office located in Saint-Herblain is responsible for verifying the compliance of ship plans with applicable regulations. Working with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore encourages the adoption of more sustainable technologies and aims to reduce the environmental impact of the maritime industry as a whole.

 

Within the Plan Approval Office, you will join a dynamic team of experts responsible for reviewing plans related to structure, stability, and freeboard.

 

Your role will involve examining plans for various types of ships under construction, both in France and abroad, in compliance with applicable regulations (class or statutory rules).

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Examine structure, stability, and freeboard plans for all types of seagoing vessels or inland/river navigation units under construction in France and abroad, acting as the direct contact point for Design Offices and Shipyards
  • Conduct technical studies and provide support to the Bureau Veritas network for ships in service
  • Contribute to the development and validation of Bureau Veritas regulations and support the functioning of the local plan approval office network (support, training)

 

Your strengths to succeed:

  • Education and experience:

Higher education in naval construction, marine engineering, or naval architecture

You have initial experience in the maritime sector or in a related technical field

Knowledge of naval structures, stability, freeboard, and maritime regulations

  • Personal qualities:

You demonstrate rigor, strong team spirit, autonomy, as well as analytical and synthesis skills

You are meticulous and methodical in technical review

You have excellent communication and customer relations skills

You are comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment

  • Language skills:

You have good proficiency in English, allowing you to communicate effectively with our clients, teams, and international network

You are proficient in computer tools and have strong writing and interpersonal skills
