Role Purpose Statement: 
The job incumbent is responsible for the performance of quality and quantity pre-shipment inspections on goods for export to determine their conformity with reference requirements (standards, specifications, regulations, etc). He performs the job in the framework of the BV Quality Assurance System, the Code of Ethics and the BV Group policies.


Responsibilities And Accountabilities
    Carrying out pre-shipment inspections on goods for export in accordance with the rules and applicable inspection procedures.
    Contact exporters and suppliers to know location and reconfirm scheduled time of intervention. Be in time for the Inspection as scheduled by his Coordinator.
    Perform physical verification of the goods strictly using the Product Inspection Check lists (PICLs). 
    Maintain a high level alert during inspection and to conduct inspection in impartial and independent manner.
    To check that the corrective actions are properly performed and to mention in the Inspection Report the findings and their corrective actions if any.
    To take appropriate photos of the inspected goods and containers and even better to take photos before and after corrective actions.
    To report extra goods (description, identification and quantity) which are intended to be shipped with the merchandise and not indicated on the pro forma invoice.
    Prohibited goods must be rejected.
    Report all types of Savings in Inspection Report.
    Follow instructions provided by the VOC Technical Officer if any.
    Complete the Inspection Report with duly marked PICLs and submit in a timely manner along with inspection photos (as applicable)
    Maintain a record of BV Seals issued to them and to keep the unused seals secure (if applicable). Also maintain other BV stationeries (Tapes, plastic seals..etc) secure and recorded as applicable.
    To report immediately to the inspection coordinator of any difficulty.
    Keeping himself updated with Bureau Veritas procedures, national and international regulations and publications related to CDG inspections.
    To retain personal notes (inspector must have a Note Book) concerning inspection for at least one year and keep same at the PIC’s disposal.
    Report immediately directly to the Line Manager in case of any bribe propositions.
    Attending meetings planned for inspectors as and when required.
    To acknowledge the mails sent by the coordinators or management related to the new instruction or change in procedure. 
    To submit the expenses occurred for inspection in a timely manner.
    Perform any other operational tasks as and when requested by the management.

 

HSE requirements
    Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Kuwait HSE Policies/guidelines and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and code of practices. 
    Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk. 
    Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation. 
    Use appropriate PPE at work area and be aware of: 
    the risks appropriate PPE will control or minimize 
    Report immediately in case the PPE is worn off or lost. 
    Communicate to their immediate managers about any unsafe work practice or condition and opportunities for improvement of HSE practices. 
     Authorized to stop work if condition, situation, environment…etc is not safe to perform the activity (immediately inform to reporting person (N+1) in the department for further guidance, if this authority is used).
    Accountable to take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do or do not do. 
    Accountable for co-operating with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience
    Graduate from High school or secondary education with proper experience
    Experience in CDG activities
    PC skills
    Fluent in English, Communication skills
