Job Title: BD Senior/Executive (Accredited Checking Services)

 

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to : General Manager of Buildings & Infrastructure Group/ Accredited Checker                                                                                                             

Objective: To secure profitable Accredited Checking project works from the private sector, including residential commercial, industrial, A&A projects and stand-alone ERSS works.                                                                                                                                                                       

 

The detailed job scope covers the following main areas:                                                                                                                                                              

  1. Identify and target private sector projects requiring BCA Accredited Checking, including new developments, major alterations and additions (A&A), change of use, and building repurposing works.                                                                                                                                                               
  2. Proactively visit and build relationship with decision-makers at:                                                                                                                                                            
  • Consulting engineering firms (civil, structural and geotechnical)                                                                                                                                                             
  • Main contractors and specialist contractors                                                                                                                                                                                              
  • Private property developers and real estate owners                                                                                                                                                                       

3. Develop and maintain a live project pipeline by tracking private sector building plan submissions, URA land sales, en-bloc redevelopment tenders, BCA's project alerts and from industry sources.                                                                                                                                        

4. Arrange and conduct face-to-face meetings with potential clients to explain the firm's AC services, technical value, and competitive advantages over other AC providers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                

5. Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals (with consultation with the AC team manager) for AC scope, including fees quotations, scope of work, timelines aligned with the project schedule and BCA submission requirements.                                                                                        

6. Follow up persistently on submitted proposals, negotiate fees (with consultation with AC manager) where appropriate, and close out appointments for AC works.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

7. Work closely with the firm's internal AC team to understand current workload , turnaround capacity, and any technical differentiators (e.g. fast response, experience with complex structures).                                                                                                                                                                              

8. Gather market intelligence on competitors' AC fees levels, service gaps, and client feedback, and report regularly to management to refine pricing or service positioning.                                                                                                                                                                                                      

9. Represent the firm at Industry events (e.g. IES, SCAL, BCA seminars, real estate developer forums) to raise the AC department's visibility and generate leads.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

10. Track and report key performance indicators monthly: number of new contacts made, meetings held, proposal submitted, conversion rate and AC fees secured from private sector clients.

 

Qualification and profile:

  • Candidate should have 5 to 10 years of experience in Singapore construction or engineering consulting industry, with existing contacts in consulting firms, contractors, or developers.
  • Engineering diploma/degree preferred but not mandatory if proven BD track record exists.
  • Must be comfortable with site visits and client meetings.
