We are seeking a proactive, collaborative, and business-focused HR Business Partner to support our Singapore Marine & Offshore team. This role plays a critical part in translating HR strategy into tangible people solutions at the country level, partnering closely with business leaders to drive performance, engagement, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities involve:  

 

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders and managers to implement HR strategies, programs, and policies aligned with Area and business objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR advice to support organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change initiatives.

 

Talent Attraction & Workforce Development

  • Drive end-to-end talent attraction initiatives for Singapore, including campus engagement, internship programs, and targeted sourcing strategies.
  • Champion the BV Employee Value Proposition and embed Diversity, Equity & Inclusion principles throughout the talent lifecycle.
  • Lead and support local learning and development initiatives that build critical capabilities, enable career growth, and support succession planning.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including engagement survey follow-up and action planning, to drive a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
  • Support leaders in fostering engagement, wellbeing, and retention across the workforce.

 

Core HR & Talent Management

  • Manage cyclical HR processes such as performance management, compensation reviews, talent reviews, and succession planning to support current and future business needs.
  • Partner with leaders to identify and develop high-potential talent and critical roles.

 

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage employee relations matters proactively and strategically, mitigating risks and ensuring fair, timely, and consistent outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, trade union requirements (where applicable), and internal policies, providing practical guidance to managers.

 

HR Delivery & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the HR Shared Service Centre (HRSSC) to leverage shared services across the entire HR lifecycle, streamline workflows, and enhance service delivery efficiency.
  • Contribute to ad hoc HR projects and regional initiatives across the APA region as required.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

 Job knowledge, skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to HR business partnering.
  • Broad HR generalist expertise across the employee lifecycle; Learning & Development experience is a strong advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proven coaching capability to support leaders and employees through performance, development, and change.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, collaborating with regional HR teams and shared service centers.
  • Hands-on experience with SuccessFactors.
  • Maritime or industrial sector experience and familiarity with trade unions is preferred.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent level.
  • Recognised HR qualification.
