Resident Technical Officer (M&E)

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and inspect Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) installations and works on construction sites.
• Ensure that M&E works comply with project specifications, drawings and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of M&E installations and adherence to safety standards.
• Review M&E shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and provide solutions during the construction phase.
• Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and approvals.
• Participate in meetings and discussions related to M&E works progress and issues.
• Conduct tests, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems upon completion.
• Ensure timely completion of M&E works within budget and schedule constraints.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in overseeing M&E works on construction projects.
• Registered as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with the relevant authority (e.g., BCA in Singapore).
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools is advantageous.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with environmental regulations.
