Structural Engineer (Accredited Checker)

As a Structural Engineer (Accredited Checking), you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of building and infrastructure projects in Singapore. You will be responsible for conducting accredited checks in compliance with local regulations, evaluating structural designs, and providing expert recommendations to ensure adherence to safety and engineering standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform independent accredited checking of structural designs to verify compliance with Building Control Act and Regulations.
- Review engineering calculations, structural plans, and design submissions from consultants and developers.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) guidelines and industry codes (e.g., Eurocodes, SS EN standards).
- Provide technical advice on structural engineering matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks or design inconsistencies and propose necessary modifications.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical queries.
- Maintain thorough documentation and prepare reports on findings, recommendations, and compliance issues.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new regulations, and emerging trends in structural engineering.
Job Requirements:
- Accredited Checker (AC) certification recognized by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, design, or checking.
- Strong understanding of Singapore’s building regulations, codes of practice, and engineering standards (e.g., Eurocodes, SS EN).
- Experience in high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or complex structures is preferred.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
