Job Overview:

The Manager, Sustainability Development is responsible for driving business growth and market expansion of Bureau Veritas' sustainability services across the organization. This role bridges sales development with strategic sustainability initiatives, serving as a key connector between clients, internal teams, and ecosystem partners.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Build and develop sales pipeline through external and internal engagements

 

  • Prospect for new clients and partners through networking, participation in industry events and social media channels to build pipeline of new leads and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ecosystem partners to drive business development.
  • Collaborate with BV teams from other sectors to promote cross-selling through the development of sustainability sales tools and enablers, co-develop sustainability services such as training programs.

 

Lead sales process to present sustainability services, advise and scope projects with clients to develop sustainability solutions that meet their needs, manage sales process and follow-ups with clients to secure contracts, resolve any issues or complaints.

 

  • Develop sales pitch, quotations, and proposals, reporting to the Director and Area Sector Lead for approvals
  • Negotiate, maintain and secure contracts with clients and subcontractors to achieve department targets.
  • Manage projects by collaborating with internal teams (local and international colleagues) and subcontractors to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Coordinate with Finance to facilitate timely payments from clients and to vendors.
  • Sales reporting and reviewing performance of sustainability services.

 

Work with Director to co-develop signature projects and sustainability development strategy

 

  • Support Director in engagement with Key Accounts on sustainability
  • Consolidate and harness value from existing partners to develop business
  • Streamline and prioritize sales and partnership engagements
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market opportunities

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Set up regular engagement sessions with existing partners to discuss new leads and business opportunities.
  • Optimise resources by collaborating with BV SEA teams on resource sharing, capacity building, role-crossing on projects for bigger wins.
  • Design sales enablers for BV BDs to cross-sell sustainability services and add value to their client pitch from a sustainability angle
  • Develop Sales Kits on Sustainability Report Assurance, GHG platform-related services, Sustainable Financing-related services (including carbon credits where appropriate).

 

Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in sales, business development, or sustainability consulting 3+ years in a sales management or business development leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, reporting standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD), and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across organizational levels
  • Familiarity with carbon accounting, GHG emissions, and climate-related services
  • Exposure to Southeast Asian markets or emerging markets business development
