Hours Worked: First shift, 8 hours per day, M-F.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Analyst III performs testing and produces and reports accurate data. Responsibilities include general lab duties and maintenance for microorganisms, as well as reading and interpreting standards and regulations, setting up tests, monitoring progress and recording data.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine testing and work with specific instrumentation (including but not limited to serial dilutions, micro plating, aseptic technique) in a fast-paced environment.
• Prepare a variety of samples for testing using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards / specifications.
• Perform quality and safety checks on samples submitted prior to testing.
• Conducts testing on a variety of samples using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards / specifications appropriate to the sample. This may include preparation for analytical analyses and introduction to analytical methods.
• Performs testing independently with little or no guidance from management
• Interprets data from multiple sources and provides analysis to clients.
• Identify, troubleshoot and solve escalated technical issues.
• Resolve escalated client issues.
• Accurately report and record test data in electronic notebook or handwritten notebooks as needed in a timely manner
• Prepare a variety of equipment for testing using prescribed standards / specifications
• Report safety, instrument and technical issues to the appropriate contacts.
• Maintain supplies, lab cleanliness and analytical instrumentation, as required, including glassware upkeep and chemical inventory.
• Prepare stock solutions, and keeping shelves and reagent stocked.
• Is a subject matter expert (SME) in assigned area and maintains up to date knowledge of current regulations / industry standards, method and protocols for products to be tested.
• Act in partnership with clients and management to support process improvement development
• Assist with department testing in other areas, providing direction, as required.
• Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or related scientific discipline
• Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience, with at least 1 year working in a microbiology setting
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
Compensation Range: up to $26 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
