 Bureau Veritas is looking for a Laboratory Analyst - Microbiology to join our environmental laboratory in Ste-Foy, QC.

Your main responsibilities are:

• To provide general support in the analysis of samples, and to perform complex sample preparation in microbiology;
• Perform analyses on samples and complex samples preparation in microbiology;
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
• Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
• Understand and troubleshoot analyses;
• Provide input to corrective action procedures;
• Ensure deadlines are met and that the equipment is appropriately maintained;
• Use summary reports to plan and organize work;
• Any other related tasks.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have a diploma and/or equivalence in Microbiology;
• Have experience in a microbiology laboratory (strong asset);
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Have good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills;
• Are dynamic, energetic, motivated and have a positive outlook.

Working conditions:

• Work schedule: day/evening/weekends (you need to be available every second Saturday)
• You need to be available for overtime during the peak season (1-2h/day) from May to December;
• Please note that flexibility for overtime is required to meet business needs. It's important to note that overtime is not optional in this role. You will be expected to work the additional hours as directed by your supervisor, even if the need arises unexpectedly on a given day;
• Status: Full time, 37.5h/week;
• For this role you will need to be comfortable working on your feet for long hours.
