Job Title and Purpose
The MEP Engineer will review and supervise mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building management, and specialist utility systems for laboratory and cleanroom environments, ensuring coordinated, reliable, and technically compliant installation and commissioning.
Job Location
Will be based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with project and site visits as required.
Assignment duration: 8 months. Expected mobilization: Month 2 and Months 6-12.
Responsibilities
- MEP Design Review: Review MEP drawings, calculations, specifications, equipment schedules, and contractor submittals for completeness and coordination.
- HVAC & Cleanroom Systems: Review and supervise specialized HVAC systems, air balance, filtration, HEPA requirements, pressure regimes, and cleanroom interfaces.
- Laboratory Utilities: Coordinate technical requirements for laboratory gases and utilities, including N2, CO2, and other specialist services where applicable.
- BMS Integration: Review Building Management System interfaces, controls, monitoring points, and integration with MEP equipment.
- Site Supervision: Inspect installation quality, identify non-conformities, and verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Testing & Commissioning: Witness testing, balancing, functional checks, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
- Coordination: Coordinate MEP interfaces with architectural, structural, laboratory equipment, and contractor teams.
Measures of success
- MEP and HVAC systems are properly coordinated, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project requirements.
- Critical laboratory environmental conditions and specialist utility interfaces are verified before handover.
Requirements to be a successful candidate
- Education: University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: At least 10 years of MEP design and/or construction supervision experience for laboratories, cleanrooms, hospitals, or comparable technically complex facilities.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong experience with specialized HVAC, HEPA filtration, laboratory gases such as N2 and CO2, and Building Management Systems.
- Site Experience: Practical experience reviewing installations, testing, commissioning, and resolving multidisciplinary MEP interfaces.
- Languages: Proficiency in Uzbek and Russian is required, together with a working command of English.
- Skills: Strong technical review, coordination, site inspection, commissioning, and reporting skills.
