Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Supervisor to oversee on-site mechanical works for a large-scale hyperscale data center project in Thailand.
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (e.g., cooling systems, HVAC, piping, and associated MEP infrastructure), ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and project schedules. The role will work closely with the Project Manager, discipline engineers, and contractors to ensure high-quality delivery and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor all mechanical construction works on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications
- Oversee installation of cooling systems (e.g., chillers, CRAH/CRAC units), HVAC systems, piping, and associated infrastructure
- Ensure all works comply with project quality standards, safety regulations, and local authority requirements
- Review and verify contractor submittals, method statements, and shop drawings related to mechanical systems
- Inspect materials and equipment delivered to site, ensuring compliance with approved specifications
- Conduct daily site inspections and monitor contractor performance and progress
- Coordinate closely with electrical, CSA, and ELV teams to ensure proper interface and system integration
- Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure timely corrective actions
- Support and supervise testing and commissioning activities, including pre-commissioning checks and functional testing
- Ensure timely closure of snagging and punch list items prior to handover
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, and progress updates
- Participate in site meetings, providing updates on mechanical progress, issues, and risks
- Support compliance with HSE requirements and promote safe working practices on site
- Assist during project closeout, including documentation, as-built verification, and handover support
Key Competencies & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision within construction or MEP projects
- Proven experience on large-scale projects, preferably data centers, mission-critical facilities, or industrial projects
- Strong experience in cooling systems, HVAC, and mechanical infrastructure for critical environments
- Good understanding of installation practices, QA/QC procedures, and testing & commissioning processes
- Familiarity with contractor submittals, shop drawings, and inspection workflows
- Experience working in fast-track construction environments with strict quality and schedule requirements
- Knowledge of local regulations and standards in Thailand is preferred
Contract Duration: 20 Months
