Engineer - Mechanical, HMWSSB

Ø Purpose of Position

• The Mechanical Project Engineer shall be responsible for supervision, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems as per approved specifications.
• The position performs in line with the Bureau  Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy

Ø Major Responsibilities

• Supervision of installation of pumps, motors, valves, piping, and mechanical systems
• Review of mechanical drawings, datasheets, and vendor submissions
• Monitoring alignment, grouting, and commissioning activities
• Ensuring compliance with approved technical specifications
• Inspection and testing of mechanical equipment
• Coordination with civil and electrical teams for integrated execution
• Support in measurement, billing, and technical documentation

Ø Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

• Quality of installation and commissioning activities
• Compliance with specifications and manufacturer guidelines
• Timely issue resolution and coordination
• Accuracy of measurements and reports
• Smooth integration with civil and electrical works

Ø Qualification and Experience & Technical Knowledge

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical works for infrastructure projects
• Experience with pumping machinery, valves, and piping systems
• Knowledge of mechanical standards, codes, and commissioning procedures
