Purpose of Position

  • To carry out the analysis of Heavy metals & Minerals on ICP MS equipment in the instrumentation department as per the relevant and approved methods. Reporting of the test results with in the agreed due dates and maintain the documentation as per the quality system.
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics, the BV Group policy, NABL and NABET guidelines.

Ø Major Responsibilities

  • Analysis of Food & Agri products, Sea food, Water, Other commodities on ICP MS equipment as per national, international standards and validated test methods.
  • Responsible for development, transfer and validations of test methods.
  • Implementation new test methods as on when required.
  • Preparation, verification and review of rawdata and results entry in LIMS as per the TAT.
  • Ensure results accurate and are reported in time 
  • Proactive to ensure all the samples are attended immediately after the receipt of the samples.
  • Ensure that all work practices comply with the standard/validated/approved test procedures
  • Perform the method validations as on when required.
  • Analysis of IQC/ILC/PT samples.
  • Evoluation of critical consumebles.
  • Ensure equipments are calibrated and maintained in good working condition.
  • Intermediate checks for ICP MS/ICP OES/AAS
  • Ensure all the certified reference materials are under valid shelf life
  • Ensure the periodic reporting to the HODs and Head Laboratory
  • Maintain the documentation as required by the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and internal quality management systems.
  • Training to the newly recruited chemists.
  • Follow code of ethics, safety and housekeeping practices as instructed.
  • Ensure the surrounds are clean and safe all the times.

Ø Roles & Responsibilities for HSE

  • Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.                                                                                       
  • To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
  • To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.    
  • Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
  • Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.             

Ø Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

  • Timely allotment of samples, data entry and reporting of results
  • Ensure the reporting of results as per the TAT.
  • Ensure all the required CRMs are covered under valid expiry dates.
  • Ensure the equipment up and running all the times.
  • Ensure the documentation as per quality norms.
  • Control of rework and no repeat non conformances
  • Shell give one suggestion per month for improvement
  • Adherence to environmental and safety policies of our organization.

Qualification, Experience & Technical Knowledge

  • B.Sc / M.Sc Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry/Food technology
  • Min 8 Years of relevant experience in the analysis of Food & Agri, Seafood, and water samples on ICP MS Instrument.
  • Must have experience in operation and maintenance of ICP MS equipment.
  • Shall be worked in a Food Lab accredited by NABL, EIC, FSSAI, BIS etc.
  • Shall be experienced in facing regulatory audits like NABL. EIC, BIS etc, and customer audits.
  • Experience in method development and validation.
