Purpose of Position
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong design and EPC background to support the design review, verification, and assurance of electrical systems for oil and gas projects and various other Industrial projects
2. Key Responsibilities
- Perform design review and verification of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities and various other Industrial projects.
- Review electrical design deliverables including design basis, philosophies, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), power generation and distribution systems (MV & LV).
- Review UPS systems, earthing, bonding, and lightning protection designs.
- Review electrical equipment specifications and datasheets (generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, cables, panels).
- Perform compliance checks against applicable international codes and standards.
- Identify design gaps, deviations, and non-compliances and raise formal review comments.
- Conduct inter-disciplinary design checks with mechanical, instrumentation, civil, and process disciplines.
- Prepare and review technical reports, comment registers, and verification documentation.
- Participate in technical meetings and provide independent engineering input.
3. Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)
- Time taken to perform the review & deliver reports to the client
- Quality of Work and Quality of reports
- Deliver to client as per contract and client expectations.
- Client relationship – Retention and Growth.
- Training team members in various competencies as communicated by the Manager.
- Compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures.
- Meet the Internal and external customer service satisfaction scores (e.g. number of complaints)
4. Professional Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Instrumentation engineering.
- Professional engineering certification or progress toward certification is an advantage.
- Membership in relevant professional engineering institutions is a plus.
5. Experience
Approximately 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably around 10 years, in electrical engineering for oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
- Experience working in Design and/or EPC organizations is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to FEED and detailed design phases, and design review or verification activities.
6.Technical Knowledge/Competencies/Functional Competencies
- Working knowledge of international electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, API).
- Experience with electrical power generation and distribution systems (Medium & Low Voltage systems)
- Understanding of hazardous area electrical design and safety-critical systems.
- Ability to review calculations, identify issues, and propose practical engineering solutions.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
