ABOUT GPC
- The key objective of the BV Global Performance Center (BV-GPC) is to support BV's global business performance. It aims to support global operations through simplified, standardized, and streamlined (3S) functioning for testing, inspection, and certification services.
- The center works to strengthen industrialized marketing and sales excellence worldwide. It additionally drives performance improvement for BV's Global Product Lines, both for existing and new service offerings. BV-GPC also oversees business process management, optimizing both back-office and front-office operations to enhance efficiency and deliver operational excellence towards end-to-end service delivery.
1. PURPOSE OF POSITION
- The Management Trainee (Market Intelligence) supports market research and analysis activities, contributing data‑driven inputs to support BV’s strategic decision‑making. The role focuses on structured data collection, basic analysis, and support to defined research assignments under guidance, while building a strong foundation in market intelligence methodologies. Working closely with experienced analysts, the Management Trainee (Market Intelligence) helps deliver consistent and quality research outputs aligned with business priorities. The Management Trainee (Market Intelligence) performs the job in the framework of the BV Absolutes, the Code of Ethics, BV Group policies and the BV Quality Assurance System.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a foundational understanding of market intelligence methodologies, datasets, and analytical frameworks.
- Assist senior team members in conducting desk research, data collection, validation and synthesis activities using public sources, industry reports, regulatory publications, and internal databases.
- Support market sizing, industry mapping, trend identification, competitor tracking, M&A targeting activities.
- Support market research activities across different BV product lines including but not limited to Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Industrial Product Certification, Marine & Offshore, Metals & Minerals, etc.
- Contribute to standardized and repeatable research outputs aligned with Global Market Intelligence (GMI) team’s best practices.
- Build capability in digital and AI‑supported market research approaches.
- Participate in internal project calls and knowledge‑sharing sessions to build domain understanding.
- Gradually take ownership of small research studies under supervision and develop readiness for future progression into a Junior Market Analyst.
3. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. (Fresher will be preferred)
- Strong passion to build a career in the market intelligence domain.
- Strong academic grounding with demonstrated learning agility.
- Internship experience in market research, market intelligence, consulting, strategy, or related analytical roles will be a plus.
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is an advantage.
4. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Working knowledge in PowerPoint (structured slide creation, chart creation), Excel (data tables, charts, basic formulas) and Word.
- Basic understanding of market research and analytical concepts.
- Exposure to or willingness to learn AI tools for market research (e.g., AI‑assisted desk research).
- Ability to understand and follow standardized research templates.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Willingness and ability to learn about the TIC industry and market.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or other BI/reporting platforms is an advantage.
