Purpose of the Position

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities at the client project site adhere to approved quality standards, technical specifications, codes, drawings and contractual requirements. The role acts as the custodian of the project’s overall quality performance, ensuring robust inspection systems, effective contractor supervision and timely closure of quality issues. The QA/QC Manager drives quality excellence and ensures that the finished product meets the client’s expectations and industry benchmarks.

Major Responsibilities

A. Quality Assurance (System & Process Control)
• Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Ensure adherence to quality procedures, SOPs and documentation protocols.
• Review method statements, work procedures and material approvals submitted by contractors.
• Conduct internal QA audits to verify compliance with approved processes.
• Lead preventive quality initiatives to avoid recurring issues.

B. Quality Control (On-Site Inspection & Testing)
• Monitor and supervise daily quality inspections across civil, structural, architectural and MEP works.
• Ensure work execution aligns with drawings, specifications, IS/NBC codes, and quality benchmarks.
• Verify concreting operations, reinforcement placement, shuttering quality, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, facade works and all finishing activities.
• Review and approve contractor inspection requests (IRs) and witness tests.
• Coordinate with third-party labs for material and field testing.

C. Material Quality & Testing
• Ensure all raw materials meet approved specifications and maintain traceability.
• Review material test results and ensure compliance before use.
• Reject non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are initiated.

D. Non-Conformance Management
• Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and raise quality observations to contractors.
• Ensure timely closure of NCRs with corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain NCR logs and submit status reports to the client and internal management.

E. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain quality records including checklists, test reports, calibration certificates, inspection logs and site-quality documentation.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports to the client and internal management.
• Update quality dashboards and highlight critical risks or deviations.

F. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate with client representatives, consultants and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Conduct quality review meetings and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site engineers and contractor teams.

G. Training & Capability Building
• Conduct toolbox talks and quality-awareness trainings for site teams.
• Strengthen understanding of technical specifications and workmanship standards.
• Drive a culture of quality across all project teams.

Roles & Responsibilities for HSE

 

  • Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.                                                                                       
  • To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
  • To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.    
  • Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
  • Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.


Qualification, Experience & Technical Knowledge

Educational Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Post-graduation in Construction/Quality Management (preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in QA/QC roles in high-rise residential, commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in concrete technology, finishing works and quality systems.
• Experience working with PMC/consultant setups is an added advantage.

Skills & Qualities : 
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials and quality standards.
• Deep understanding of IS codes, NBC and industry specifications.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong coordination and reporting capabilities.
• Proficient in MS Office, QA/QC software tools and documentation management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

Quality Control Performance
• % of works executed without rework.
• Number of NCRs raised vs. number of NCRs closed on time.
• Material acceptance rate based on tests and inspections.

Process Compliance
• Compliance rate to ITPs, PQP, and QA checklists.
• Audit compliance score for internal and client audits.
• Timely submission of all QA/QC documentation.

Inspection Effectiveness
• % of contractor IRs approved without rework or rejection.
• Frequency and quality of site inspections performed.

Client Satisfaction
• Client feedback on quality management.
• Number of escalations related to quality issues.

Preventive Quality Management
• Number of training sessions or toolbox talks conducted.
• % reduction in recurring quality issues.
