Job Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer with a strong design and EPC background to support process engineering, design review, and assurance activities for oil & gas, hydrogen, and associated energy projects. The position will be based at a Bureau Veritas office in Mumbai (India).

Key Responsibilities

- Perform process design review and verification across conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering stages.

- Prepare and review process design basis, philosophies, and engineering calculations.

- Review and verify Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Heat & Material Balances (HMB).

- Review process datasheets, equipment lists, line lists, tie-in lists, fluid and load lists.

- Perform and review PSV relief load estimation and PSV sizing calculations.

- Review flare system calculations, knockout drum sizing, and associated hydraulics.

- Review pump, compressor, and rotating equipment process calculations including anti-surge and settle-out analyses.

- Review design of separators, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, and other process equipment.

- Perform hydraulic calculations and control valve sizing reviews.

- Interface with piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines during EPC execution.

- Participate in 3D model reviews and vendor technical document reviews.

- Prepare and review technical reports, calculation notes, and design review comments.

- Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, and project procedures.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with 75% Aggregate or 8 CGPA

- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering is an advantage.

- Professional engineering certification or progress toward certification is a plus.

Experience Requirements

- Approximately 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably around 10 years, in process engineering for oil & gas or energy projects.

- Experience working in Design and/or EPC organizations is strongly preferred.

- Exposure to hydrogen, ammonia, upstream, pipeline, and processing facilities is an advantage.

- Experience across conceptual design, FEED, and detailed engineering phases.

Technical Skills & Tools

- Experience with process simulation and engineering software such as HYSYS, PROMAX, Flare network analysis tools, and HTRI.

- Strong understanding of process design, sizing, and optimization techniques.

- Ability to critically review calculations and propose practical engineering solutions.

- Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.

- Fluent in spoken and written English.
