Job Title: Surveyor (MEP)

Ø Purpose of Position

• The job incumbent is responsible for performing of MEP surveys and the inspection of equipment, products, installations, materials to determine their conformity with specified requirements (BV rules, International Instruments, National Regulations, etc). Carries out some tasks independently, with minimum supervision, and these may be on well-identified or isolated assets.
• The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.

Ø Major Responsibilities

• QA/QC of  MEP Projects work  on a continuous basis, Structures, Design, Lab Testing, Soil Investigation,
• Adherence to Codes and Standards (Knowledge of Codes and Standards), Piling / Foundation, RCC
• Review of QAP & Quality Manual

Ø Roles & Responsibilities for MEP

• Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.                                                                                       
• To comply company MEP requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on MEP as applicable
• Checking of materials and review of test reports furnished by the construction agency, recommending additional tests, if necessary, to examine the quality.
• Inspection of erection, testing and commissioning of MEP including witness of site acceptance tests as per QAP
• Raising non-conformities if observed to the contractors of the respective trades based on regular inspection and re-inspection to be done for the previous non-conformity reported and close the same within 15 days.
• Snagging and de-snagging of flats in line with specifications before handover.
• Conduct inspections of HVAC ducting, piping, VAV/AHU installations, and chilled water systems.
• Review electrical panel installations, DB wiring, conduit layouts, earthing systems, and cable tray installation.
• Validate plumbing systems, including pressure testing, slope compliance, drainage, and water supply.
• Support fire safety system inspections including fire pump room audits, sprinkler layouts, and pipe pressure tests.
• Witness functional testing: insulation resistance, flow balancing, BMS interface validation, fire alarm and detection.
• Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective measures.
• Maintain detailed checklists, snag lists, inspection reports, and as-built verifications.
• Coordinate with design teams to resolve discrepancies or site deviations.
• Understand and interpret IS, NBC, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards as applicable to MEPF systems.
• Report to the Senior Engineer or Technical Lead and participate in client meetings.

Ø Qualification and Experience

• Graduate Engineer BE/ B.Tech (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil ) with min. 5 to 8 years or Diploma with 8 -10 years of relevant experience.
