Purpose of Position 

  • EHS Management as PMC for APCRDA Project.
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.

Major Roles & Responsibilities

Environmental Management

  • Responsible for Environment sustainability.
  • Monitor waste management, dust control, noise levels, and water quality.
  • Implement pollution prevention and environmental protection measures.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and monitoring.

Health & Safety Management

  • Develop and implement project-specific EHS policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Organize and conduct mandatory safety training and toolbox talks for all personnel.
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and statistics.
  • Responsible for Rehabilitation Works.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to national and state regulations (OSHA, Building Code, Environmental Laws).
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and government agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing EHS regulations.
  • Prepare audit reports and compliance documentation.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the EHS team.
  • Collaborate with project management, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate EHS expectations to all stakeholders.
  • Foster a strong safety culture across the project.

 

Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

  • Number of environmental NCs raised vs. closed.
  • Compliance with EMP and statutory requirements.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of environmental reports.
  • Reduction in environmental incidents / violations.
  • Timely closure of corrective actions.

 

Qualification & Experience & Technical Knowledge

 

  • BE/B.Tech – Civil; Preferable Masters in Environmental Engineering.
  • Candidate must have more than 10 years’ experience in Zone Safety Assignments.

Skills & Qualities
          -     Strong knowledge of environmental laws and compliance.

  • Expertise in EMP implementation and environmental monitoring.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to conduct audits and investigations.
  • Communication skills for training and stakeholder coordination.
