📋 POSITION

Title: HSE Supervisor (Health, Safety & Environment)
Location: CMHI Shipyard, Nantong, China
Duration: June 2026 – December 2026 (7 months)


🎯 CONTEXT & OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking experienced HSE Supervisors to support shipyard operations at CMHI in Nantong, one of China's leading shipbuilding facilities. This position offers the opportunity to operate in a complex and dynamic environment, applying international HSE standards in a shipyard construction context.


👤 CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years in HSE supervision in complex sites (preferably shipyard, heavy infrastructure, onshore/offshore oil&gas, or renewable energy)
  • Consolidated experience in construction sites with high safety standards
  • Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks (ISO 45001, IMCA, IOSH, or equivalents)
  • Proven experience in toolbox talks, risk assessments, incident investigation

Technical Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of HSE procedures and safety protocols in critical industrial environments
  • Ability to conduct audits, inspections, near-miss reporting
  • Experience with HSEQ management systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar)
  • Competence in emergency response planning and crisis management

Soft Skills

  • Multicultural communication – ability to interface with international and local teams
  • Leadership – ability to influence safety behaviors and culture
  • Problem-solving – proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation
  • Documentation & reporting – precision in report writing and compliance documentation

Language Requirements

  • Fluent English 

📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with international HSE standards and local regulatory requirements (CNOOC, CNPC, China Classification Society, where applicable)
  • Coordinate daily safety briefings and toolbox talks with multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct systematic site inspections and continuous risk assessments

Incident Management

  • Investigate near-misses and incidents, prepare root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain incident log and reporting dashboard

Training & Engagement

  • Support HSE onboarding for new personnel
  • Facilitate safety awareness campaigns and behavioral safety programs
  • Coordinate with CA Safety Coaching for implementation of proprietary methodologies

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain HSE records, permits, certifications up-to-date
  • Prepare weekly/monthly HSE reports for management and client
  • Manage compliance documentation and audit trails

Operational Coordination

  • Interface with Site Manager, Engineering, QA/QC teams
  • Support HSE procurement (PPE, safety equipment, monitoring devices)
  • Collaborate with local authorities and regulatory bodies for inspections and permits
