Role Purpose:

The role of the Marketing Manager covers the UK and Ireland, whilst also providing a business partnership to the B&I (Buildings and Infrastructure) SP25 (Strategic Plan 2025) pillar.

The role is to develop and lead the UK Marketing Strategy through understanding of the SP25 (Strategic Plan 2025) and to facilitate the overall growth of the UK business in line with the sales growth targets set each year. By focusing on the identified growth markets and applying market specific strategy designed to deliver one or more of the identified penetration plans of increasing market share / retention, revenue or profit.

 

Develop and manage a communication strategy for the UK business sitting within the overall marketing strategy positioning Bureau Veritas as a ‘voice of the market’ / ‘strategic partner’ concepts which provide the vehicle for marketing campaigns and events. 

 

To manage outbound communication for the UK business.  Ensuring brand protection, consistency and professional image of all UK operational external and internal communications.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the head of communications to develop the UK marketing strategy.
  • Be the marketing business partner for the SP25 B&I (Building and Infrastructure), working with the cross functional team to ensure growth in this area.
  • Manage the marketing team to ensure performance and deliver on activities to support the business. Oversee planning, coordination and support of all communications, products and publications related to events and campaigns is of a high quality and timely.
  • Highly innovative use of available marketing techniques and mediums to deliver aspiration using traditional seminars through to video and other media tools.
  • Responsible for all outbound communication, all copy review, liaison with PR and client PR departments.
  • To establish excellent working relationships with key organisations and individuals within the media, both print and broadcast at national and local level – particularly so within Bureau Veritas UK selected Public Relations partners.
  • Review of all copy for consistency and professional image expected from a professional services organisation.
  • Identify, collect and generate ‘good news’ stories for internal and external use and for internal and corporate campaigns through working closely with all senior managers, sales teams and key managers across the business.
  • Identification of and assist preparation of Case Studies, liaise with clients to get sign off as a public document.
  • Review all Bureau Veritas UK markets and key competitors regularly to identify trends, emerging ideas and best practice and technology for exploitation by Bureau Veritas UK – examples would include corporate social media tools like LinkedIn.
  • Brand Protection.
  • Manage the external agency relationships to ensure deliverables are met and activity plans align to the business priorities. Enabling the external agencies to act as a true member of the extended team. 

 

Deliverables:

  • Compliance with people policies and common processes
  • Ensure effective communication with team members and hold regular and structured team meetings to ensure the BU goals are clear and progress is communicated
  • Ensure staff PMR’s are undertaken and objectives set which dovetail with those of the M&S community
  • Delivering on all the Communication Mix to support the strategic growth of the UK Business.
  • Responsible for all public domain documents and document management, this includes all Case Studies, Brochures and Service sheets and processes by which all material is tracked, reviewed, republished and retired and tracked again - as appropriately
  • Responsible for individual pre-defined BU’s
  • Setting and achieving all marketing KPI’s
  • Ensure the marketing budget is used effectivly and spend is measured and a RIO held

 

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in a marketing environment
  • Specific experience of developing marketing and communication strategies for professional services
  • Attention to detail
  • Literate and demonstrable use of English grammar
  • Copy writing experience
  • Highly mobile and flexible regarding UK travel
  • Ability to take a potentially complex and technically orientated service, challenge or product and present it in a meaningful, succinct and understandable format
  • Experience of design packages, media formats from traditional printed copy to video and motion graphic
