Role: Administrator 

Location: Earls Colne, Essex - Candidates must have their own transport as there is no public transport to the site                                                       




Responsibility for performing all administrative duties for the ICO Oil & Petrochemical Team in an efficient, accurate and timely manner as directed by the Operations Manager. 




  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. 
  • Ability to work to a high level of numerical accuracy, and to produce reports and documents to a satisfactory level of literacy. 
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure, within strict time limits. 
  • Ability to determine and organize priorities. 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. 
  • Oil and Gas Science knowledge/experience desirable but not essential 




All duties to be carried out in accordance with Bureau Veritas guidelines, to include HSE policies, Company accreditations and quality systems and Fair-Trading Code of Practice. 


  • To provide administrative support for the ICO Team, as required. 
  • To implement and maintain an efficient electronic filing system. 
  • To monitor nominations received via Clients electronic systems (NAVARIK, CMOP, PINS…) and distribute in a timely manner to worldwide locations, as applicable. 
  • Answering and transfer of telephone calls. 
  • Preparation of outgoing Emails, and their effective distribution. 
  • To assist with the maintenance and administration of the business management system (OMS). 
  • To maintain an effective system for ordering and control of equipment. 
  • When required, to compile statistics relevant to work undertaken. 
  • To operate within the framework of Bureau Veritas H&S, Ethics, Fair Trading and Compliance policies. 
  • Dealing with post and couriers when requested. 
  • To carry out other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required by management.  





  • The generation of accurate, efficient and timely administration duties. 
  • To assist, communicate and report to the Operations Manager on any matter relating to the efficiency of the office, and any deviation from or failure of systems, procedures and established codes of practice. 
  • To communicate effectively and to cooperate with all interested parties both internally and externally in all aspects of the work performed. 
  • To be an active team member.
