About the Role

We are growing our Offshore Wind Team and are now seeking an experienced Engineer with with a fabrication background. The Offshore Wind Project Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support to a portfolio of wind projects and to aid in the fabrication and installation of offshore wind assets. This will Include Inspection and Quality Assurance activities, documentation review and client management.

This dynamic role will work closely with Bureau Veritas clients in offshore wind developments globally. This is a significant opportunity for a successful candidate to integrate their knowledge from offshore wind operations, offshore asset operation and project operations, as well as, looking externally at industry best practices.

Currently BV’s renewable clients include some of the largest players in the industry sector and as such this is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the largest offshore wind projects in the world. Some of this role may be as an embedded resource with a BV client and the successful applicant will need to work both effectively with the client and BV internal teams (influencing positively Bureau Veritas’ position where possible).

 

Responsibilities involve:  

  • To provide operational and engineering support to a portfolio of projects
  • Ensuring that all defined work scopes are met and contributing to engineering efficiency, reliability, maximising life cycle value and safety in design, through robust fabrication management, inspection and quality assurance services.
  • Supporting the Project Teams in managing and developing wind opportunities for growth with new and existing clients
  • Working to project deadlines and delivering work packages to the client satisfaction.
  • Reviewing Quality documentation for the project, technical authoring where required.
  • Facilitate development of project operational processes and procedures ensuring compliance with local regulations and legislation.
  • Adapting BV’s project processes and procedures to support offshore wind projects.

 

 

 

What are we looking for?

Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Wind industry experience (Offshore Wind is strongly preferred)
  • Ability to network effectively across the BV organisation to access relevant data and knowledge
  • Highly motivated and able to work as part of a diverse team without supervision.
  • Experience in working in a projects or project engineering role
  • Clean UK Driving License ability and willingness to travel
