Job Title: UK Renewables Business Unit Manager

Location: Homebased with national travel

PackageStarting at £60k + 10% bonus + car allowance + excellent benefits and rewards package

About the Role

The successful candidate will develop the Bureau Veritas UK Renewable service offering; that leads to the sustainable growth to fulfil ambitions of being the #1 TIC player in Renewables by 2025. The role covers all renewable business in the UK including onshore and offshore – fixed and floating installations, hence the dual reporting line to Industry and Marine/Offshore business leaders.

 

You will Work closely with Global Service Line team on service product development and capture of globally strategic opportunities.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the focal point of activity for the Renewables market in the UK (clients, competitors, partners, opportunities, business environment, regulation etc.)
  • Identify leads, develop opportunities, client relationships and generate sales
  • Proactively approach target companies, listen to their expectations, and offer BV solutions and services to meet their requirements
  • Drive the delivery of selected technical solutions across all stages of the asset lifecycle (design and permitting, procurement, construction and operation)
  • Develop and expand the network of local/International partners/resources, both Internal and Externally
  • Establish key relationships with existing customers, dealing promptly with their requests with the aim of retaining existing business.
  • Support Bureau Veritas Renewable/Offshore/Onshore wind operation on capability building, organisational development and further enhancement of the offshore wind operating model
  • Manage a team of consultants and associates in Renewable Energy space.
  • Management of the Business Unit - Sales to Profit process and budget deliverables
  • Own the opportunity pipeline within the renewables/offshore wind market segment in the UK
  • Plan and deploy marketing campaigns including participation in trade shows and webinars

 

Candidate requirements include:

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant qualification i.e. STEM/ Environmental Engineering.
  • Member of a relevant Industry body
  • Proven experience in the UK Renewables Sector
  • Significant Commercial experience within a key account management or business management position
  • Strong technical understanding and significant experience in one or more renewable energy sectors (preferably wind)
  • Good understanding of professional services (Owners Engineering, Inspection, certification etc) related to renewable energy assets
  • Technical knowledge across the lifecycle of the renewables sector, related industry-best-practices and relevant technical norms and standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Relevant H&S qualification (desirable)
