We are growing our Approved Body Machinery team in the UK and are looking to recruit a Senior Machinery Specialist to join our team of industry experts.

 

 

What the role involves

As a specialist you will provide machinery safety services to fee paying and internal customers including PUWER assessment of machinery, and the assessment of the additional ‘Lifting Equipment’ requirements within LOLER when applicable.

You will provide impartial and independent condition assessments of machinery to enable duty holders to make informed decisions regarding the management of machinery safety and provide/ witness inspection and testing of machinery as part of a conformity assessment.

The role will also provide machinery consultancy services to clients including providing pre-purchase assessments to ensure the required regulatory requirements are met, performing audits of managerial systems for PUWER and LOLER regulatory compliance, providing Machinery Safety, PUWER and LOLER Regulatory straining and engaging with clients to assist in drawing up the scope of technical deliverables for commercial contracts.

You will provide an independent and impartial service within the Machinery Safety discipline.

 

 

 

Who we are looking for  

We are looking for someone with an engineering background, who can work predominantly alone but as a member of a team. Good communicator both verbally and written to internal and external customers at all levels. High level of PC competence in word and Excel. The ability to understand complex regulations and apply them in real time. The ability to read and understand technical drawings. I-Eng or able to achieve I-Eng

Ideally with an awareness of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, machinery conformity for UKCA/ CE and in the application of PUWER and LOLER.

Plus, experience in the following:

·       Auditing engineering management systems

We need someone with excellent Presentation skills, who is comfortable providing technical and regulatory training.

There will be the need to travel domestically and on occasion, internationally.
