Lead the Strategic Growth of Bureau Veritas' Fuels Business in the UK

The Role

 

As the Country Manager Fuels UK, you will be responsible for leading the strategic growth and development of the Fuels business in the UK. You will oversee all operational and commercial activities, setting the direction, delegating tasks, and ensuring efficient execution. Working within the framework of Bureau Veritas' Quality Assurance System, Code of Ethics, and Group policies, you will drive the business towards ambitious goals.

Bureau Veritas Fuels is a market-leading organization with a strong presence in the UK, operating 4 laboratories and employing a team of 45 individuals. The Fuels business generates an annual revenue of approximately £4.5 million, positioning it as a significant player in its industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a mid to long-term strategy and related business plans for the Fuels business in the UK
  • Build and maintain top-level relationships with the largest accounts in your area of responsibility
  • Strong corporation within the region of Western Europe with other Country Managers and functional support managers (for example: Key Account Management, Lab Technical Governance, HR, QHSE, etc.)
  • Plan, implement, and control the cost budget, taking corrective actions as needed
  • Monitor and analyse business performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Define operational, commercial, and employee engagement targets for your direct reports
  • Drive Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate collaboration with relevant stakeholders, such as Sales & Marketing, Global Service Lines, and other Bureau Veritas divisions
  • Manage the performance, development, and motivation of your team

 

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an exceptional leader with the right qualifications and experience to drive the strategic growth of our Fuels business in the UK. You will possess a university degree in a scientific, technical, or business administration field, complemented by a successful track record in general management and P&L responsibility. Your ability to drive growth will be evident through your commercial experience in a technical service (B2B) environment, where you have demonstrated a keen focus on developing customer relationships.

Navigating the dynamic Oil & Petrochemical market in the UK will require an established network and experience working in a complex, international matrix organisation. You thrive in fast-paced, challenging environments, bringing an entrepreneurial mindset that will enable you to identify and seize new opportunities. Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and business case development skills will be crucial to your success in this role.

Collaboration and stakeholder management will be at the heart of your work. You possess excellent interpersonal and networking abilities, allowing you to build trust and drive progress with diverse teams and partners. Fluency in English, combined with good local language skills, will empower you to effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders across the UK and beyond.
