Location: London- Hybrid Working 2 days per week in the office, however flexible on location for the right candidate

About the Role

We are growing Health and Safety team and looking for an experience Health and Safety Consultant to provide high-quality consulting support to help clients achieve operational excellence by delivering SMS-related services of the Clean Energy Consulting Group. To support the Clean Energy and Consulting Group in identifying innovative solutions and services for current and future clients.

 

Responsibilities involve:  

  • Play an active role in the delivery of an annual Clean Energy and Consulting Group Plan
  • Marketing the relevant services of the company
  • Be an exemplar in client management and relationship building
  • Conduct research and guide clients
  • Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the appropriate field
  • To respond to requests from client work and proposals
  • Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics
  • Assist in the delivery of projects on time and to budget; to manage resources in the delivery of the projects; to participate in regular project reviews
  • To follow all financial procedures in the delivery of projects
  • Provide high-quality technical consultancy to clients and team members within the Consulting Group
  • Ensure the use of the Consulting Group technical tools and methodologies in the delivery of projects to the standard set
  • Draft technical consultancy documents
  • Adhere to site safety practices where site work is undertaken
  • Contribute to a rolling forward Consulting Group forecast to provide visibility of future workload
  • Monitor individual utilisation versus targets and activity to manage optimal utilisation
  • Monitor and report on KPIs specified by the Consulting Group Manager
  • Contribute to support team working
  • Ensure full implementation and use of the competency framework
  • Work collaboratively with the client’s vendors/contractors to ensure effective and seamless service delivery, including significant engagement with the Facilities Management vendor and site visits where needed.
  • Support Design and Construction works from the EHS stand point of view.
  • Supervise and liaise with different stakeholders to ensure safety during events, both onsite and offsite.
  • Support during internal / external audits and inspections from the Authorities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant occupational safety health qualification, human factors, engineering, and psychology.

Desirable

  • Lead Auditor ISO standards (ISO 45001 and 14001)
  • Relevant experience and qualification in ergonomics or human factors
  • knowledge and skill in applying a variety of human factors or ergonomics tools
  • Relevant experience in the energy industry, including offshore expertise in maintaining a human focused HSE standard.
  • Relevant experience with operational excellence (6-sigma, lean or kaizen) methodologies
  • Relevant experience or understanding of resilience engineering, safety II, human organisational performance, and safety culture.
  • Experience with project management methodologies
