Job Title: Junior Health and Safety Consultant

Location: Hybrid Working 3 days per week at client site (Central London)

Up to £38-£45k per annum (DOE) + enhanced maternity/ paternity and sick pay+ further fantastic benefits package

Role Purpose:  

Working in an embedded team to deliver health and safety services to the client aligned to their health and safety management system.

Responding to health and safety queries. Maintaining the accidents and incident database and associated records. Producing monthly management information reports for areas of responsibility.

 

Main Duties:

  • Monitoring health and safety compliance for client portfolio (proactive and reactive) and escalating issues where identified
  • To support regional offices with ad hoc and proactive advice and guidance
  • Monitoring global health and safety legislation sources and providing relevant legislative updates where identified
  • Corrective actions management and reporting
  • Accident recording and leading on accident investigations (minor)
  • Creation of risk assessments for corporate events (on and offsite)
  • Management system administration (document control, local implementation)
  • Organisation and chairing of health and safety team calls with vendor stakeholders
  • Regular operational health and safety performance reporting / statistics collation etc.
  • Online and face-to-face training management, including health and safety induction training
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Health and Safety Consultant

 From time to time you may be asked to undertake reasonable tasks not stated within this role profile but commensurate with the position.       

 

TECHNICAL AND CUSTOMER EXCELLENCE

Candidate requirements include:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Strong administrative abilities (planning, managing documents, reports writing, collating and manipulating data)
  • Member of IOSH (desirable)
  • 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate office environment (desirable)
  • Experience with the preparation and implementation of a recognised management systems such as ISO 45001 (desirable)

 

 Personal attributes required:

  • Proven technical knowledge and understanding
  • Comfortable operating independently on behalf of Bureau Veritas within an external environment
  • Excellent customer service manner, with strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to client requirements
  • Demonstration of proactive and self-motivated approach to task completion
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
