Role: Commercial Finance Analyst

Location: Wythenshawe – Hybrid – 2 office days per week

Role Purpose:  

  • To efficiently deliver and develop existing financial reports and MI packs, including contract profitability.
  • To consolidate and drive consistency in I&F FP&A activity.
  • Business partnering day-to-day with UKR Procurement business including monthly forecasting, month-end reporting and driving gross margin improvements. Investigate ad hoc cost / revenue variances across UKR.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Producing and partnering with the business to generate and improve upon monthly UKR Contract Profitability reports and slides. Partnering with Operational and Commercial Management to provide first level of review and query resolution
  • Assisting all divisions with the development of new tools / KPI’s to move the business forward and improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Finance Business Partner for the UKR Procurement division. Processing month end close for business units, delivering accurate and robust valuation of Work in Progress, accrued income and direct cost accruals
  • Consolidating UKR FP&A for budgets, quarterly forecasting and monthly landing
  • Consolidating UKR reporting around month end, including co-ordination of month end variance analysis.
  • Providing sound analysis at a UK level on areas of controllable cost, for example, Travel spend
  • Co-ordinating month end reporting for Head Office & greenlighting Revenue & OP in-line with Group timetable
  • Ensuring costs & recharges are allocated accurately between business units
  • Consolidation, reporting and maintenance of the CAPEX budget and advising on related risks & opportunities
  • Producing weekly WIP files for UK business; first level of analysis and driving continuous improvement in this area, ensuring the business takes ownership for the accuracy of the numbers through FBPs
  • Managing month end calendar and working with wider Finance Team to ensure smooth running of month end

 

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Problem solving skills and an analytical approach
  • Proficient IT literacy (advanced MS Excel including PALO, Tableau, BI, Access desirable)
  • Strong communication skills

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline
  • Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA or experience finance professional
