Job Title: Environmental Consultant (IAWQ)

Location: Manchester / Leeds area - Homebased with travel to client site 

Package: £30,000-35,000pa DOE+ £4,250 car allowance/company car + excellent benefits 

 

Role Purpose: To schedule, survey and provide written technical reports for survey work on behalf of contract managers within the Indoor Air & Water Quality business unit. Production of a legionella risk assessment, asbestos re-inspection and fire risk review. Air hygiene reports are also produced.  

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out water hygiene monitoring, including the completion of site logbooks.
  • Carry out risk assessments and audits of building water systems for the control of legionellosis including auditing of site records.
  • Carry out audits of cooling tower system and other high risk systems, including the auditing of site records.
  • Produce draft schematic drawings of building water systems for submission to the CAD team.
  • Produce water hygiene logbooks for domestic water systems.
  • Carry out assessments of air conditioning systems and environmental assessments of occupied areas in relation to indoor air quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports including observations, recommendations and interpretation of laboratory analysis.
  • Carry out Asbestos Re-inspections and Fire Risk Reviews as part of the Comply 3 projects.
  • Arrange and carry out all work to meet with agreed Company & client timescales.
  • Be responsible for managing small contracts/projects within the IAWQ area as directed by the team leader.
  • Liaise with Contract Managers in relation to work under their control.
  • Present and discuss reports with the client as necessary.
  • Deploy in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics
  • Compliance with the Bureau Veritas UK Health & Safety policy and procedures
  • Compliance with the Bureau Veritas UK Management System and IAWQ methods and procedures.
  • Working closely with the centralised planning team to ensure work is being effectively scheduled and carried out.
  • Support the culture of ‘One BV’ within the team
  • To contribute to responses to requests for client work and proposals

 

 

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in indoor air and water quality
  • Experienced in the organisation and planning of personal work load
  • Experienced in fulfilling role of day to day site contact for the business and its clients
  • A good background knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • H&S Experience
  • Computer Literate – MS Word a must

 

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE or A Level
  • Certificates in BOHS P901 & P902 or City & Guild or WMSoc
  • Degree in related area preferable
