Role: Senior Account Manager

Role Purpose

Own and develop key client relationships across the Industry & Retail portfolio, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and growth. Act as the primary client interface, coordinating operational, commercial and technical support to deliver an excellent customer experience whilst driving long-term account value.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders at all levels.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Lead regular account review, service review and governance meetings.
  • Manage escalations and coordinate resolution of significant client issues.
  • Develop and maintain account plans aligned to customer objectives.
  • Account Growth & RetentionIdentify opportunities to grow revenue through cross-sell and upsell activity.
  • Support contract renewals, re-tenders and commercial negotiations.
  • Develop retention strategies for key and strategically important accounts.
  • Work with Business Development and Operational teams to secure new opportunities.

 

Commercial Management

  • Support pricing discipline and margin improvement across assigned accounts.
  • Monitor account performance against revenue, profitability and customer objectives.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and drive appropriate action.
  • Support proposals, contract variations and business case development.
  • Service Delivery Oversight
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure contractual commitments and service levels are achieved.
  • Monitor service performance and drive improvement where required.
  • Support mobilisation of new contracts, services and projects within existing accounts.
  • Ensure client feedback is captured and acted upon.

 

Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts and pipeline information.
  • Lead structured account reviews and track delivery of agreed actions.
  • Provide regular updates on account performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas policies, processes and ethical standards.

 

Experience required: 

  • Experience managing strategic, national or key customer accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to grow and retain customer relationships.
  • Experience working within a service delivery or compliance-led environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into actions.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

 

Qualifications required:

  • Relevant business, engineering or technical qualification desirable.
  • Professional account management qualification beneficial.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Security clearance eligibility where required.
