We are growing our Pressure Equipment Design team in the UK and are looking to recruit a new Senior Inspector.

 

What the role involves

 

As a Senior Inspector you will carry out examination, witnessing and certification activities on pressure equipment in compliance with UK regulations and EU directives. Managing inspection and verification activity to a high standard in line with company inspection procedures, regulations, standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities will include

  • Providing inspection and verification of pressure equipment products and permanent joining within authorised scope of assigned inspection codes, UK and EU regulation requirements (PE(S)R, PED, Permanent Joining, NDT)
  • Provide verification and certification of permanent joining procedures and personnel
  • Ensure informed knowledge of developments in standards and legislation affecting all inspection activity is maintained and supporting change as required
  • Perform verification, quality assessment, documentation review activities on contracts undertaken by Bureau Veritas and ensure efficiency, profitability and accreditation compliance is maintained, including; contract review, compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Act as Deputy Technical Manager supporting the Technical Manager where required.
  • Maintain compliance with Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest requirements at all levels of inspection and personal involvement on the behalf of Bureau Veritas.
  • Report business opportunities to the Business Unit Manager
  • Maintain Client and Verification Engineer relationships.

 

Who we are looking for  

 

We are looking for someone with a mechanical engineering background and good working knowledge of the manufacture and inspection of pressure equipment. You will require knowledge of Pressure Equipment Regulations (PE(S)R) and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), also welding and NDT techniques.

Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to write technical reports.
