Architect / BIM Coordinator

Overview

 

We are looking for a talented and driven Architect with strong BIM coordination expertise to join our growing team. This role combines high‑quality architectural design with the leadership of BIM processes across multidisciplinary projects.

You will be responsible for guiding projects from concept through delivery, coordinating federated models, and ensuring compliance with BIM standards and UK regulatory requirements. The successful candidate must be a UK‑registered Architect with the ability to legally sign off and take responsibility for architectural projects.


 

Key Responsibilities

 

Architectural Design

  • Lead design development from concept, planning, technical stages, and through to project delivery.
  • Produce, review, and coordinate drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Ensure design compliance with planning policy, building regulations, and client objectives.
  • Act as lead architect on selected projects, taking professional responsibility where required.
  • Collaborate with structural, MEP, and specialist design teams throughout the project lifecycle.

 

BIM Coordination

  • Lead BIM coordination across projects, ensuring adherence to BIM standards and protocols.
  • Manage federated models and oversee multidisciplinary BIM workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project information requirements.
  • Support teams in clash detection, model audits, and data quality management.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and support teams in structured document control.
  • Proficient use of ACC Docs, Model Coordination, and Design Collaboration.
  • Manage cloud‑based CDE environments including permissions, versioning, structured folders, and model publishing.
  • Prepare and publish Revit models for coordination, review packages, and design collaboration workflows.
  • Lead issue management, change tracking, model reporting, and cross‑team communication.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models within cloud platforms to maintain a single source of truth.

 

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders through design meetings and workshops.
  • Lead client communication and relationship management.
  • Ensure deliverables meet deadlines, quality expectations, and project scope.
  • Support project managers in planning, programme coordination, and delivery.
  • Coordinate UK front‑office activities with back‑office production teams in Spain.
  • Manage local partners and subcontractor relationships.

 

Commercial Support

  • Provide technical expertise during business development activities.
  • Manage and present BIM capabilities during commercial meetings.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
  • Ideally a Chartered Member of RIBA or working toward chartership.
  • Degree in Architecture (RIBA Parts 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent).

 

Essential Skills & Experience

 

  • Demonstratable professional architectural experience.
  • Experience delivering design‑led projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of BIM environments and collaboration workflows.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong understanding of UK Planning Policy and Building Regulations.
  • Experience coordinating architecture, structure, and MEP teams.

 

Desirable

 

  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience as a BIM Coordinator or BIM Lead.
  • Knowledge of Navisworks, Solibri, or similar coordination tools.
  • Experience working with ISO 19650 standards.
  • Experience on medium‑ to large‑scale residential, commercial, mixed‑use, or infrastructure projects.
