Reports To: Regional Sales Director or Business Development Head


Position Overview

Bureau Veritas seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and market expansion in Vietnam's LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) sectors. This role combines strategic business development, client relationship management, and industry expertise to identify new opportunities, expand existing accounts, and deliver Bureau Veritas's comprehensive testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services to energy sector clients.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities within the LPG/LNG supply chain (producers, distributors, storage operators, transporters, retailers)
  • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve annual revenue targets
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and opportunities
  • Conduct needs assessments and propose tailored service solutions (inspection, certification, compliance, training)
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals within authority limits

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders (C-suite, operations, compliance, procurement)
  • Serve as primary account manager for assigned strategic clients
  • Conduct regular business reviews and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and service delivery coordination

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Stay current with LPG/LNG regulations, standards, and industry trends in Vietnam and ASEAN
  • Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics
  • Identify regulatory changes that create compliance/certification opportunities
  • Provide market insights to support strategic planning

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner with technical teams (inspection, certification, training) to scope and deliver solutions
  • Coordinate with internal departments (operations, compliance, finance) to ensure seamless project execution
  • Support proposal development and tender submissions
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities

Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline data
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis
  • Track KPIs: revenue, pipeline value, win rate, client acquisition cost
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors
  • 3+ years of direct experience in LPG/LNG, energy trading, or related industries (preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets
  • Experience with TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) services or regulatory compliance is a strong plus

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of LPG/LNG supply chain, operations, and logistics
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (ISO, ASTM, national/international LPG/LNG codes)
  • Knowledge of Vietnamese and ASEAN energy sector regulations
  • Basic understanding of inspection, testing, and certification processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced business qualification
  • Previous experience with Bureau Veritas or similar global TIC organizations
  • Regional (ASEAN) market experience
  • Knowledge of LNG terminal operations or LPG storage/distribution facilities
  • Multilingual capabilities (French, Mandarin, or Thai beneficial)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., API, IMCA, DNV GL background)
