Tasks – Activities – Responsibilities

 

This role is responsible for all procurement, purchasing, and sourcing of subcontractors and suppliers. The position involves purchasing a wide range of items, hiring subcontractors, and renting properties. Key responsibilities include:

 

    • Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
    • Receiving requests from department heads (not from their immediate reports), assessing and comparing proposals, verifying and confirming prices, and ensuring that subcontractors sign our Code of Ethics.
    • Overseeing the tendering process for our Project Management Projects. This involves centralizing the receipt of proposals from bidders and working with our site teams to manage the tendering process and make award recommendations to the client.
    • Managing supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contracts and resolution of issues.
    • Conducting and analyzing market research to identify potential vendors and suppliers.
    • Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and agreements.
    • Overseeing the procurement process from the initiation of a purchase request to the final receipt and approval of goods.
    • Coordinating with internal departments to forecast needs and specifications.
    • Managing the procurement budget and preparing cost analyses and reports.
    • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the industry's market trends and developments.
    • Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable.

Candidate Profile

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in a procurement or purchasing environment, typically 10+ years, with progressive responsibility.
  • Professional certifications such as the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
