Job Description

Chief Supervisor – Solar Power Project

Location: Vietnam

Job Purpose

The Chief Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all construction supervision activities at the solar power project site, ensuring that the project is executed in compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, project schedules, contractual obligations, and applicable Vietnamese regulations.

The position will serve as the primary representative of the supervision consultant and will manage a multidisciplinary team of site supervisors throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision Management

• Lead, organize, and manage all site supervision activities for the project.
• Coordinate and supervise discipline-specific supervision engineers and inspectors.
• Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Monitor and verify the quality of civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure works within the solar power plant.

Quality Management

• Review and inspect construction materials, equipment, installations, and completed works.
• Identify, report, and manage non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Oversee inspection, testing, commissioning, and acceptance processes.
• Ensure proper maintenance of quality records, inspection reports, and as-built documentation.

Schedule and HSE Management

• Monitor construction progress and evaluate contractor performance against approved schedules.
• Recommend corrective measures to address delays and project risks.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and fire prevention regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the primary interface between the Owner, EPC Contractor, subcontractors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in technical meetings, progress review meetings, inspections, and acceptance processes.
• Prepare and submit regular reports covering project progress, quality, safety performance, and key project issues.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines.

Mandatory Professional Certification

• Valid Grade I Construction Supervision Practicing Certificate for:
• Civil and Industrial Construction Works; and/or
• Technical Infrastructure Construction Works;
• Or an equivalent internationally recognized supervision certification accepted by the relevant authorities.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision, project management, or construction execution for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Must have served as Chief Supervisor (or equivalent position) on at least:
• One (1) Grade I Solar Power Project or higher, and
• A solar project with a total installed capacity of more than 100 MWp.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising EPC projects and managing multidisciplinary supervision teams.
• Experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly preferred.
• Additional experience in wind power projects, substations, and transmission lines is considered an advantage.
