Job Purpose

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for supervising and monitoring Mechanical, Electrical, and related Infrastructure works within the solar power project to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, project schedules, and applicable regulations.

The role will work closely with the Chief Supervisor, EPC Contractor, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.


Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

  • Supervise and inspect MEP installation works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Review and verify shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITP), and technical submittals related to MEP systems.
  • Witness inspections, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of MEP systems and equipment.

Quality Control & Assurance

  • Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and approved standards.
  • Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor quality control activities and ensure proper documentation and record keeping.
  • Participate in site inspections, punch listing, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Progress Monitoring

  • Monitor construction progress and provide updates regarding MEP activities.
  • Identify potential delays, technical issues, or construction risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with contractors and supervision teams to ensure timely completion of works.

HSE Compliance

  • Ensure contractors comply with project HSE requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and incident investigations when required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with EPC Contractors, subcontractors, project teams, and relevant authorities.
  • Support project meetings and provide technical input regarding MEP-related matters.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to construction progress, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, MEP Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines.

Mandatory Professional Certification

  • Valid Grade I Construction Supervision Practicing Certificate for:
    • Civil and Industrial Construction Works; and/or
    • Technical Infrastructure Construction Works;
    • Or an equivalent internationally recognized construction supervision certification.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in MEP engineering, construction supervision, or project execution for industrial, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
  • Must have experience as an MEP Supervisor, MEP Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Site Engineer, or equivalent on Grade II Solar Power Projects or above.
  • Proven experience in supervising utility-scale solar power plant construction activities.
  • Experience working with EPC Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience in substations, transmission lines, renewable energy projects, or large-scale industrial projects is highly preferred.
