Job Title: MATERIAL QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER

Department of reference: LOG

Direct Report: HSEQ MANAGER

Working Place: Onshore – Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Offshore technical support should be requested based on activities needs.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement best quality practices and processes for material control.
  • Maintain, monitor and ensure the highest quality in warehouses services.
  • Follows up, develop and initiate quality standards for tests, inspections and evaluations in collaboration with engineering departments within COMPANY.
  • Design and develop forms and instructions for evaluating, assessing, reporting and documenting quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to quality control aspects.
  • Lead, direct and assist technical, professional staff in measuring and testing material.
  • Tabulate and document data relating to products, processes, materials, its qualities and reliabilities.
  • Research, study, compile and prepare material quality control activities, processes and procedures.
  • Train staff, technicians and professionals in the aspects of quality control activities.
  • Maintain updated operating instruction and procedures to state of the art.
  • Does the necessary controls to evaluate the conformity of materials in relation to PO specifications. 
  • Creates and follow up management system for emergency materiel and safety critical spare parts (SECE);
  • Solves and reports on all problem of non-compliant materials while proposing solutions; 
  • Ensure set up of cross-functional collaboration with other COMPANY services and SUPPLIERS concerning quality management and quality control; 
  • Proposes and pilots improvement projects for better quality management; 
  • Keeps up to date quality reports and procedures, report of nonconformity, report of inspection, etc. 
  • Collaborates with other roles into optimizing the flow of materials with for main objective to manage the level of service, the delays and the costs; 
  • Provide legislative advice and guidance on regulations for quality management;
  • Develop logistics compliance to ISO norms mainly ISO 9001, ISO 14001; 
  • Follow and reports all incidents and do investigations concerning anomalies on the materials received and leaving the warehouse;
  • Manage material certificate database;

 

Required Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree (preferably in Engineering subjects)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the quality control field preferably in O&G business
  • Certified in quality management

 

Required Competencies :

  • Knowledge of ISO and API standards
  • Working knowledge of English and French language
  • Computer literate, particularly in the Office package, and familiarity in learning new software
  • Expertise in O&G materials
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication in English (verbal and written), presentation, negotiation & influencing skills

  • Duties to be carried out in compliance with Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics and Internal Control System.
